 Welcome to SOD Skate

        From humble beginnings....                       To nowadays....

SOD Skate is a Perth based family business which was officially established during 2007 but operating as a hobby since 2005.  It came about through a series of events - a passion to skate and an interest in art.

Young Perth skater Daniel and his interest in art, together with his Mum, led to the creation of his own range of skate t-shirts.  They were originally hand painted for his personal use (and a few select mates).  An interest from local skaters in obtaining Daniel's t-shirts has now led him to producing his own label of products which includes - printed t-shirts designs, hand painted t-shirts designs, tie dye t-shirts and limited edition skateboard decks all under the registered trade mark "SOD".

It wasn't long before Daniel's younger brother Jack also took a serious interest in skateboarding.  Together, they are a familiar face around local and country skate parks.

SOD Skate is a real family affair where everyone participates in all aspects of the business.  From artwork design, product design, brochure design and website creation and content.  It's all done in-house to keep costs down and also, enables the boys to gain an insight into running a small business.

Eventually, Daniel would like to sponsor a team of local skaters and also, support skate events in the not too distant future.  He wants skateboarding to grow, but more importantly, continue to maintain its urban underground culture and mystique.  The skateboarding community is quite unique as it generally doesn't conform to any specific rules or trends - not mainstream like other board sports.  This is more than likely due to the sport itself, as skateboarding is a personal expression of one's self.

SOD's philosophy behind its products is to make skateboarding more affordable without compromising on quality.  We would like to see the product range grow over time so the boys can eventually expand the business - if that's their desire.  At the moment, having fun is their main priority.

SOD, an acronym for "skate or die," just about sums up the boys' passion for the sport.  "If you can't skate, what do you have left?"
